The four Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—tell the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus from distinct perspectives. Acts, on the other hand, focuses on what happened after Jesus rose and ascended: the spread of the church, the work of the apostles, and the growth of early Christian communities. Because its emphasis is on the church’s beginnings rather than on Jesus’ life in a biographical sense, it isn’t classified as one of the Gospels. So the book that isn’t a Gospel is Acts.
